About Us

AFUW - NT is a member of the Australian Federation of University Women (AFUW) which, in turn is affiliated with the International Federation of University Women (IFUW). The AFUW is the voice of graduate women promoting the advancement of women worldwide and their equality of opportunity through initiatives in education, friendship and peace.

AFUW is one of 66 member nations of the IFUW which has consultative status with the United Nations and its specialised agencies, including UNESCO and ECOSOC. AFUW thus has a direct voice through IFUW on international matters of critical importance to the protection of human rights and the status of women and girls.

AFUW-NT committee members meet regularly to discuss the business of the association. Members are welcome to join us, particularly for those meetings when talks by interesting speakers are organised.
